I’d describe myself as an enthusiastic bike owner. As far as ambitions within cycling go, I’d have to say that I have serious designs on a lanterne rouge.

I have enjoyed 15 years working in global marketing and management roles in sport. In that time I have had the privilege of working client, agency and rights holder sides of the industry with world leading brands on a variety of sport investments.

My favourite ride is my Specialized S-Works SL2. It was previously a Quickstep pro team bike and it is fair to say it is enjoying a comfortable retirement in my ownership.

Tom Boonen is a rider I admire and he won a Paris-Roubaix riding the SL-2. He’s a phenomenal athlete who works hard and plays harder.

There are a number of events to motivate me this year. I’ll be doing Velothon Wales and Ride London, and I’ll be heading to Germany for the Hamburg Cyclassics. Most of all, I’m looking forward to some great riding in Italy and the south of France with friends. That’s the best thing about cycling: getting to do something active with friends, and the people you meet and new friends you make when you’re out on the road.

My wife Shelly and I have three children: Alfie, who’s six, Harry who’s a year younger and little Martha who’s just a year.
